hm. the week is only halfway over and already i'm blowing a lot of moolah. =P my car tune-up cost a grip. well, i spent a lot of it on books too. got myself test prep books for the CBEST and the GRE, and for leisure reading i got this book called "Growing Up Asian American", a compilation of short stories and excerpts of the coming of age. Then yesterday i got myself a classic that i've never read "Little Women", but before i read these i'm going to read "Memoirs of a Geisha" which jason highly recommends. =) so i've got plenty to do. now i have to register for second session summer school. hm. =/ where to get money to pay for rent, car, and school, in addition to everything else? =P oy~
sooOooOo~ what do u do if your parents tell u to marry someone of the same ethnicity as u, and if u don't, they won't be able to communicate with your children in their native language, therefore they will move back to their home country? now, if my parents wanted me to marry a korean, they shoulda stayed in korea instead of bringing me over to a melting country. er... melting pot country. left out one crucial word. we also had a somewhat heated discussion about my career. apparently they have some issues with me wanting to teach at a low-income school. they're ok with me doing it for a few years, but afterwards they'd like to see me go to a better school. but those are schools that already hire the more experienced, "better" teachers. maybe if i get an offer/position i can't refuse, then perhaps. but for now, i'm determined to make an impact at an inner city school...
i'm getting tanned pretty quickly. i should listen to my mommy and use sunblock. u guys should too! don't want skin cancer and whatnot. =) stay safe! i love playing outside wheee~ jason taught me how to throw a fastball the other day. wwaattchh out now~! =) hehe. ok the weather is quite hot and it's making me quite lazy. i could easily fall into another nap... right.. about...... now.....
