HIGH SCHOOL CONFERENCE MEETING WAS SOOO BOMB!!! The people who are helping to put this together are AMAZING. i am so thankful for everything everyone is doing... wow. and the level of commitment they have... =) not only that but the spirit! almost everyone came dressed up! i had to whip something together, so i was a tourist. *shrug* had a hat, an "i love america" sticker, a tourbook, a map of california, and a camcorder. i dunno, it was ORIGINAL ok?? like david reyes, he came as an old navy worker, with a makeshift headset made from construction paper. =) but my mentee, everytime i looked at him i had to try to stifle a smile. hahaa.. too cute! and i got everyone's costumes on film!!! muahahaaa....

i have to not be home tonite so kids won't come asking me for tricks or treats with their cute lil faces... anyway i have a midterm to study for. =P there is so much to do.. i think i'm slowly becoming overwhelmed. ALL THIS GRAD SCHOOL stuff is NOT fun. oh my goshhhhh~!!! this is crazy, really. it's not funny. it's not fun either. actually it's really scary stuff.. almost as scary as the 5.1 earthquake last nite. that shit wasn't cool. windows, desk, shelves rattling.. me running frantically around the house looking for another soul to comfort me (ha. that didn't happen)... i was scared shitless and i'm not afraid to admit it! =*(

well last nite after the apsa meeting, a bunch of us raided tea station and had a good time. i got to kick it with my mentee jon lego and got to know two girls from my hometown! it was really cool that they came up to me and just recognized me. trippy. and they're all helping out with high school conference!! gooo first years!! and alums! and uci! =) hsc is fast approaching, so i'm really starting to dig my heels into it...

ok so i'm supposed to come dressed up as something tonite to the hsc meeting, but i don't really have anything. i was thinking of being lara croft, but that's not gonna happen. i'll see what i can whip together.... if anything, as a last resort i can come as a snow boarder chick. muahaha.. which reminds me, MAMMOTH already got SNOW!!! wooo hoooo~! heLLoOoOOoo snow season!!

my oven SUCKS!!!!! last week i baked biscuits and they BURNT. i thought it was my doing, so i was like.. ok. damnit. i've never burnt anything in the oven before. then today i made lemon bars and THEY BURNT AGAIN!!!!!! my oven is apparently way too strong. i'm going to take the suggested baking time and divide by two. i'm upset. i wasted a perfectly good batch of lemon bars. i even had to walk all the way to vons JUST TO BUY EGGS. cuz we had TWO left in the fridge and i needed THREE! =( booOooOOoo~....

but on the bright side i found out that i won 5% off all my groceries every time i shop at vons! all the way up until end of november. =) wooo hooo!!!

PRODUCTIVE WEEKEND!
alrighty, well it was indeed a packed weekend... jason came down, we studied for most of saturday. i finally got the chance to sit my butt down and crack open my GRE book. so i don't think i'm going to grad school. =( no i'm kidding. i'm going, but the chances of me doing well on this test? slim, because apparently i SUCK at it! plus i dont' have much time to study, and the latest paper-based test i can take it is dec. 8!!! ahhhhhh!! that's finals week!!!!! =P but i would rather take the paper test, AND not have to fret over it during winter break, or feel guilty for having fun in the snow, thinking i should be studying instead....

studying at borders, i had this urge to want to be able to cook a variety of dishes well. so on impulse more than anything else, i bought a cookbook that's very helpful! cooking is fun, and it never hurts to try new things. =) i also miss baking, so i'll do that when i can also.

this morning was apsa's revealing of our mentors/mentees!. we had it down in balboa park at the japanese friendship garden. i thought i was late, but it turned out i got there early enough to explore the place, find good parking, and give directions to everyone else. ironic, eh? anyway, i found out who my mentee was! but he wasn't there. =( it's ok, i'll just harass him when i see him at the high school conference meeting wednesday nite. =)

after that, i came home and jason and i washed our cars and vacuumed it (well, he did). after our heart-wrenching goodbyes that i will never get used to, i dedicated an insane number of hours to my baby! my car... dried it to perfection, waxed it since the first time i got it 2 yrs ago, cleaned out the inside, windexed, and armor-alled my dash, side panels, and tires. =) my car is a very happy camper. unfortunately, the next 2 weeks is not my turn to park in the garage, so i will inevitably have tree and bird shit targeting my car.... =(

then there's Del Mar's SnowJam from Nov. 9 -11, which will be headed north to Costa Mesa the weekend after, Nov. 16-18!
that same weekend is san jose's SnowSport Expo Nov. 16-18 for all you bay area pplz, or ppl who can make it up there that weekend! (but most of you will stay or come down to sd for apsa's high school conference, right?)
...and don't forget LA's ANnual Ski Dazzle from Nov. 29-Dec. 2, incentive = free bear mtn ticket!

i'm sad... =( i just remembered i have a parking ticket i have to pay for. but i think i'm going to send an e-mail appeal, just cuz i'm stubborn like that. also, i have a midterm i have to write but i can't get myself into the mode. i don't have time to waste though!! this is not a good thing. my midterm last friday is still questionable. i think i did ok, but who knows...

i had a weird dream about my snowboard last nite. i think it was a small sign of withdrawal that i must be suffering. i haven't seen my snowboard for months now. it's at jason's place all the way in tustin and all i wanna do is look at it and touch it... =( how i miss my snowboard so.... *sigh* ...and as for my boots. they're GOING. pieces of crap! i hate burton boots! they messed up my toes and made them grow out all gross and bloody! i keep telling ppl how important it is to buy COMFORTABLE boots, and that i would spend the most money on a GOOD PAIR OF BOOTS. and what did i do? got sprung on a deal i couldn't pass up at a snowboard convention, even though they were not the pair i wanted. well, i finally got salomon boots on ebay! wheee~ good deal too. can't wait til i actually have em on my feeeeet....!

no, i don't know what i'm doing still up. so i like to see what things i can imaginarily bid on ebay. =/ i may be crazy, but at least i'm not insane!!! hahaha... i said that to lil dale today and he cracked up for the longest time. =) and he laughed even harder when i said "my farts may smell but at least they don't stink!"... i dunno. u had to be there.

so anyway, it kinda pisses me off how ppl try to RIP EACH OTHER OFF ON EBAY! gotta have a good eye and knowledge to know when u have a good deal or not. sooOooOOo~ for anyone who wants advice on anything about snowboards/snowboarding i'll try to provide my input, and if not, i'll do my best to direct u to the right resources. =) if u just want my gosh darned opinion, that's cool too. whatever i can do to feel helpful! ok off to bed now....

as of late, i've become a believer of many things...
the refrigerator aka fridge. i didn't realize how important they were and what an awesome job they do at preserving food. our fridge was broken for a month and i was amazed to discover how quickly food spoiled! milk goes bad in a matter of a day or two, and it gets all chunky! >=P and lemonade gets all syrupy pretty quick too. and ice cream? doesn't stand a chance. meat? don't trust it.
avoid using dull scissors/knives i've always been told that you're not supposed to use dull objects because u'r more likely to hurt yourself! of course i was like, yeah ok whatever. so this past weekend i was cutting jason's roommate's hair, and as i was holding the comb i was trying to cut some stubborn hair with a pair of stubborn scissors... and.... *SNIP!* cut my thumb nice n deep. =) so ppl out there, let this be a lesson to u. use sharpened scissors.

there was something else but i can't remember it. the apsa officer mtg tonite just ended about an hour ago and i'm just pooped. in any case, it's now reggie's bday, so HAPPY 21st BIRFDAY TO REGGIE!!!! yayyyy~ join the club!....

already... i seriously need to read. i'm lagging already!! maybe i'm trying to do too much, i dunno. i haven't even opened my GRE book yet to study. i don't even know the test dates. i haven't even done my research for grad school yet. WHY AM I WASTING TIME?!?! no tha'ts not it, just that i have too much to do. my day starts early and ends late. =P and i keep bumming rides off of my roomies. hehehee... on m/w/f davy takes me and back, t/th makoto takes me to school and dave brings me back. =) works out all perfectly!

this weekend is going to be long.. must STUDY. must must. then my roomies and a bunch of other ppl are going to go bungee jumping on sunday. O_O too much moolah and NOT for me... i'm such a wuss. well.. maybe i'd do it. i don't know the money thing gets in the way... =)

i'm looking into buying an N64 console. where can i get cheap controllers? and cheap games? maybe i shouldn't be wasting my money on something like that.. =/ but it's such a great multiplayer system! =) i'll see...
