If you saw his last season's film "Ride," you know what this cinematographer's all about. =) sweet, breathtaking footage of extreme skiing and boarding...(and painful outtakes, gruesome falls, the usual)... =)
La Jolla screenings at the Museum of Contemporary Art this Friday and Saturday, 6 pm and 9pm showings. Tickets available at any Ticketmaster booth, Sport Chalet, or on campus.

High School Conference aftermath...

From representative of CSAP (Coalition of South Asian Peoples) and HSC facilitator:
"I just wanted to give guys serious props for putting on this event. I was not only impressed, but amazed with the hard work and dedication that so many people put in. I really enjoyed being a part of something so meaningful... Here and Now rocked the ballroom! They were incredibly talented and fun to watch. I have never seen an Asian American performing arts crew with a focus on real API issues before them- I was really impressed. Just wanted to give all the many people that were involved some appreciation. I feel proud to share this campus all of the people that helped out with this conference. APSA definitely took it to the next level... and then some." =)

My love goes out to APSA, its officers, its HSC Committee Chairs, and ALL THE AMAZING PPL AND ORGS THAT MADE APSA LOOK GOOD THAT DAY. Oh my gosh you guys are amazing!! I only hope we can return and extend the favor to you guys. =) I am very blessed to know and to be able to work with people like you...

and with that. chin up - off i march to face finals heads-on... (cross fingers)

oooohhhh mmyyyy ggoooossshhhh....
it's OVER!!! i can't believe it... the APSA HIGH SCHOOL CONFERENCE, for which a good chunk of my time has been devoted to, is over and done with. after months and months of planning and organizing, it's just.. done now. i'm am so extremely exhausted now. my body just caved in and now i just feel like crap. my co-chair Steph is sick now, and i only hope she finds time to relax and take care of herself. she is an amazing person whom i've had the privilege to work with and get to know. =)

well... it's been a long road, but the outcome was well worth it. the people who've helped put this together blew me away. i just want to post this small token of my gratitude to them, which is also in the welcome note of the HSC program: "To the HSC Committee Heads & Staff: A thousand thank you’s, for this day could not be executed without all of you. You are amazing people helping out for an amazing cause. I know this conference will leave just as strong an impression on you guys as it will on the students whose lives you’ve crossed. I’m sure I’ve told many of you this already, but from the very beginning I’ve had so much faith in all of you… you can’t even imagine. With every weekly meeting that faith only grew stronger, and I’m not even trying to sound cheesy. =*) To you, the driving forces of this conference, my gratitude is infinite."

i've heard form many ppl that it was the best HSC thus far, which is flattering. but i don't think they can be compared. each conference had its own unique coordinators and their respective personalities. i just suppose steph and i were a good match. =) in any case, it's done and i'm very happy that i lived thru it and remained in one piece. thank u apsa for your support and faith in me. =)

HIGH SCHOOL CONFERENCE WEEK!!!
yeah yeah i know i've neglected my blogs for quite some time now... but really. it's november. and this saturday is the big day. for those of you who are coming out to help, i'll see u there! for those who aren't, please wish me a smooth day. =) so many little things to take care of and worry about, but i know it'll all come together in the end. we'll be ok! in fact, our conference is going to be awesome, and the students are going to get a lot out of it, dangit! and i'll try to meet as many of them as possible. =) gooooo high school conference!!! and it's not too late to get involved! WORK PARTY at the Cross Cultural Center THIS FRIDAY from 6:30 to whenever. LOTS to get done: stuffing folders, stapling 500 programs, last minute skit and dance run-throughs, and much much more to help out with! fun fun fun! =)

as for snowboarding, gotta keep it on hold. =( mammoth has already opened, but only the Broadway run is open. if i'm paying forty-some-odd dollars for mammoth, i want the whole damn mountain to be my playground. ski dazzle snow/ski convention is just around the corner too.. well. still a whiles away. if any of you are interested in going, perhaps we can work sumthin out. =) as of now, it seems i won't be able to hit the slopes at all this season until DECEMBER... =/ *sigh*.. my poor lonesome board...
