DRAFTED MAY 13, 2009
how does nearly half a year go by already??
after all this prep for our UTLA strike, it's called off as a judge rules it an injunction. $1,000 fines and risk of credential revocation. we're still picketing and protesting at beaudry, as well as engaging in mass civil disobedience. dare i get arrested again? (city attorney told me i couldn't anymore, but i think it's a lie). too many performances and event going on this weekend, can't afford to spend a night or two in jail. i feel a lot of feelings about the actions. i will, however, continue to faithfully fight against class size increases and lay-offs. use federal stimulus monies NOW the way they were meant to be used!
press conference with mayor... still in the works.
CST madness. oh the wonders of high-stakes testing. at least my kids are doing well, kids are at times driving me crazy. how is it that i end up with such an amazingly intelligent bunch of kids, yet with incredibly strong personalities? at least we all love each other and have that underlying respect and connection. =) they just gotta work on self-control. i will miss them... as culmination nears and they work on their memory books, i realize how little time i have with them.
interview this saturday...
speaking of which, am i doing summer school?
speaking of summer... i need one more salary point!!!!! GET ON IT, JANET!
ooh, summer. cuba? if i don't do summer school, i'll probably do cuba! alex better hurry up and get his passporT!
lots of drumming performances this month. poongmul has become another love of my life. as has soccer. ah, yes, futbol. futbolistas joined the pasadena soccer league in february and just finished the season. so many of us wanted to join in on the league that we had to create 2 teams, with 15 players max on one team. Team 1: Futbolistas. undefeated til we got to the play-offs. shadiness involved. Team 2: Futbolistos. Undefeated all season all the way to the championship! =)
this year is slowly coming to a close...
