what's going on?!?!

i don't want drama and i don't want ish to be crazy. ARGHGHH!!!

happy birthday to grassroots organizer grandma kim! we had a bday celebration for her at andy's/dae-han's pad and watched an AMAZING film called "welcome to dongmakgol." a story of the korean people, from the people's point of view, in war. north and south have to find a way to come together. a beautifully-made film. and the way the movie takes u through humor and extreme sadness.. it's insanity. can't say more or else i'll give it away. watch it.

over the weekend i finally got myself to fry's to buy a wireless router. i love refurbished stuff there! so cheap! (my photo printer was refurbished from fry's. great deal.) got a netgear router for only $20! reg. $50. cool. got myself a rug as well from ikea. simple and functional. thanks to joe for accompanying me and making the day enjoyable and full of laughs! on saturday i attended a gathering of some awesome womyn and watched a powerful documentary. =) thanks to lisa for that. in the afternoon-evening i took a carload of my students to the El Sereno Community Garden fundraiser event. got a personal garden tour, planted pea seeds and took them home in little pots, bought some stuff, got myself an eastside cafe shirt, ate tostadas and drank champurrado (it was a COLD nite!), and watched actual footage from oaxaca. man... then had an interesting conversation with my kids about war during the car ride back.

that nite some friends and i hit up little temple bar for the 4th anniversary party of descarga. i had no idea hella BRU folks were going to be there! jam packed party, a little too crowded for comfort but fun nonetheless! i love dancing. i need to go more often but have to secure myself a dancing partner. i'm still too freaked out to dance with strangers. will i ever outgrow that?

sunday was, of course, FUTBOLLLLL!!! no goal(s) this week. but i sure got a lot of bumps and bruises. i don't know what happened. but it was filled with laughter and good times so it was greeaatt! afterwards, a newly formed korean drumming group got together for the first time yesterday nite. it's cool to be part of something so new and help shape the direction of the group. i respect these folks and have found a solid group of sisters to solidify relationships with. and through drumming no less!! life is good. =) a little confusing at times, and it has its sometimes sad and lonely points... but overall things are truly nice. i really can't complain!.. other than i'm too busy. and this other major thing happening within my family that is affecting me a great deal but i'm trying to find ways to handle it the best way i can. (ambiguity is a skill that shines through my blogs.)
